The move from big city to small town is the kind of change Dr. H. David Brannon, the newest physician to join ACH Family Physicians, was looking for, whether he knew it or not.
Brannon has been practicing family medicine for 20 years and has practiced in both Pensacola and Mobile, most recently at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Brannon, who was born in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., said growing up in a smaller community had a lot to do with why he went into the medical field.
Brannon said the change from practicing in a big city to a smaller community is one he is fully embracing.
Brannon said his approach to patients also fits well with the small town attitude.
Brannon said another perk of practicing in a smaller community is playing a more important role in the hospital’s function.
Besides his passion for small-town medicine, Brannon said he tries to do mission work as often as he can.
Brannon said he and his wife, Lisa, plan to take a two-week long mission trip to Sudan sometime within the next year.
Lisa Brannon is a nurse and works for Dr. Orth out of Sacred Heart. The Brannons have one daughter, Ashley Kaye, who will be enrolling at Samford University in the fall.
Brannon received his bachelor’s degree in biology as well as his doctorate from the University of South Florida. He also completed an internal medicine residency through there. He completed his family practice residency through the Univeristy of Florida.
