Montgomery area resident Jason Alan Jones took home the $5,000 grand prize at Saturday’s PCI Gaming Star Search competition.
The singing competition, held in the newly opened amphitheater, pitted the Top 2 contestants from both Wind Creek and Riverside casinos against each other after making the cut for multiple weeks. From Wind Creek were singers Shane Harrell and Lori Cocker with Jones and Joanne Boyd from Riverside. Boyd received second place, Cocker third and Harrell fourth.
Chris Tipton, marketing manager for PCI Gaming, said the event was well received.
Tipton said the reason for the combination of the two contests was to liven things up.
Tipton said they anticipated the large crowd, many being friends and family of contestants, and were glad to have had been able to use the amphitheater for a second night in a row following Reba McEntire’s performance Friday night.
