Mary Virginia Etheridge

MOBILE - Mary Virginia Etheridge was born on Oct. 14, 1921 to the late Jonathan Nicholas and Fannie Maude Etheridge of Wawbeek. She passed into eternity on Sunday, July 26, 2009.
Mary was a native of Wawbeek, a former resident of Atmore and a resident of Mobile for the past 20 years. She was a long time member of Sardis Baptist Church at Wawbeek and later at Sage Avenue Baptist Church in Mobile. She graduated from Flomaton High School and Larkin Business School. She worked for the government in Washington, D.C. and in Mobile before retiring.
Her sisters, Kate Lois Etheridge and Eleanor Young preceded her in death.
She is survived by her twin sister, Melva Vivian Dorith of Mobile; her sisters, Ernestine Jernigan of Mobile and Nell Ree Lambeth of Flomaton; her brother, Jonathan Nicholas and Jacqueline Etheridge Jr. of Spanish Fort and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, July 29, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earle Greene officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until funeral time today, July 29, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Etheridge III, Bobby Lambeth, Johnny Abrams, Jonathan Etheridge IV, Curtis Young and Melvin Jones.
