Aspiring singer Olivia Godwin is doing whatever she can to get her voice heard, even singing about tacos.
Godwin, a native of Walnut Hill, Fla. and a current student at The University of Alabama, is up against six other contestants in Taco Casa’s Jingle Jam.
Jingle Jam is a radio station sponsored competition where contestants auditioned and then were recorded singing a jingle about Taco Casa, a Mexican fast food restaurant out of Tuscaloosa.
The six videos featuring seven contestants are currently on the radio station’s (Tuscaloosa’s 94.1 ZBQ) Web site to be voted on. Currently Godwin is in third place with 20.75 percent of the votes.
Godwin said it was her sister, Cassie, who encouraged her to audition for the competition after they heard about it on the radio.
Godwin said auditions were being held at area Taco Casa locations and to make the video contestants had to sing the jingle.
Olivia Godwin said the support being shown to her by the community means a lot to her.
