PENSACOLA, Fla. - Salley Bullock Steele, 89, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Sterling House Residence.
Born in Atmore in 1919 to Felix Oscar and Ellen Bullock. Salley grew up and received her education in Alabama schools. She married Lewis Murphy Steele of Atmore in 1940. During the early years of her married life she was employed at Pensacola Mutual Federal Bank retiring the 1960’s. Sally and Lewis were active members of First Baptist Church Pensacola, for over 60 years where she taught in the children’s programs.
Her husband, Lewis Murphy Steele, her parents, and four sisters and brothers, preceded her in death.
Survivors include one brother, Espin E. Bullock of Pensacola, Fla.; nieces, Pam Daniel, Joyce Lott and Vera Davidson and nephews, Espin Bullock Jr., Ron Bullock, Rick Bullock, Cecil Yarborough, Ralph McDaniel and Sonny Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 5, 2009 at Waters &Hibbert Funeral Home conducted by Dr. Barry Howard, pastor of First Baptist Church, Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Alterra Sterling House, TLC and Covenant Hospice for the loving care extended to Sally.
