Despite the soaring temperatures in Bratt, Fla. Thursday morning, the Northview Chiefs left the locker room and held their first practice in full pads with their new head coach, Sid Wheatley.
The Chiefs worked their offense against their defense, while moving the ball up and down practice field.
After practice, Wheatley said practice went all right for the team’s first day in their full uniform.
Defensively, the Chiefs moved to the ball every time it was snapped and followed the plays well.
Wheatley said the key for the defense is having the desire to go out and want to get the football.
On offense, learning the new multiple sets is something that comes with having a new head coach.
Wheatley said the benefit for the offense is having a lot of returning talent that can pick up any changes quickly.
