The bricks are here!
Yes, after a long wait, the Atmore Chamber of Commerce has received its first shipment of bricks to be laid in front of the post office.
The brick project began several months ago as a fundraiser for the Chamber. Sheryl Vickery, Executive Director of the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce said this day was a long time coming.
The Chamber is not finished selling the bricks and anyone can still get in on the project. Buy a brick in memory of someone, in honor of someone or just because you want to buy a brick. Each one cost $100, but consider the fact that these bricks will be placed in a public place and be seen for many years. They can be stamped with almost anything, as long as decency allows, according to Vickery.
Members of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were in charge of this project. They include, Webb Nall, Allen Walston, Josh Godwin, Leann Allen, Cindy Lee and Adam Prestridge. These members will be happy to sell you a brick to lay in front of the post office so that whatever you have inscribed on it is saved for posterity.
If you would like to purchase a brick, get in touch with any one of the board of directors mentioned above or call the Chamber of Commerce at 251-368-3305 or come by the Chamber at 501 S. Pensacola Ave. in Atmore.
