Taste buds around Atmore received something special on July 27 as B&T’s Texas-Style BBQ opened its doors for the first time in several months and began serving lunch again.
The owners of B&T’s, Byron and Tricia Vaughan (or B and T) decided to reopen after closing due the gloomy outlook of the economy.
Tricia Vaughan said they decided to open back up because it had been a nice break and they wanted to start working again.
With the reopening, B&T’s changed their hours and the format of their menu.
The new hours for B&T’s are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Vaughan said the difference in the days is how the menu is run.
The response to the reopening of the barbeque restaurant has been nothing but good.
Vaughan said the support of the community has been tremendous.
Along with serving lunch, Vaughan and their staff also cater and host functions for residents, community organizations and businesses.
Vaughan said that they enjoy catering to people for parties of under 100, and host functions with a capacity for around 80 people. She added people are welcome to buy meat or brisket and do what they please with it.
The Vaughans are happy to open back up to the Atmore community, so residents have another great place to dine at.
