Coming off of their first win of the season, the Escambia County Blue Devils look for their second win when they travel to Spanish Fort Friday night to take on the Toros.
The Blue Devils (1-2, 1-1) defeated the Faith Academy Rams last week after scoring 33 unanswered points, and look to continue their offensive production and defensive domination this week against the Toros (2-1, 1-1).
Blue Devils head coach Kyle Davis said the opponent this week is one of the strongest teams the Blue Devils play.
After winning last week, the Blue Devils have to focus on the task at hand if they want to come away with a win.
Davis said he and his coaching staff have made it clear that what happened last week is in the past.
Focusing might not be a problem for a team that just picked up its first victory and is hungry for another one.
Davis said the Blue Devils seem different since they won Friday night.
The key to winning this game will be holding onto the ball and playing good football for two halves.
Davis said the Blue Devils cannot come out flat if they want to have a chance.
The Blue Devils and Toros kick off at 7 p.m. Friday night in Spanish Fort.
