CENTURY, Fla. - Mrs. Ruthie Findley, 81, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 in Destin, Fla.
Ruthie was a native of Dothan, a former resident of Big Spring, Texas and a resident of Century, Fla. for the past 10 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a mother to a number of children and attended the Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
Three brothers, Tunnie Hawthorne, Ghrome Hawthorne and Huey Hawthorne, preceded him in death.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lee Roy Findley of Century, Fla.; two daughters, Sara Lea and Steve McAuliffe of Macy, Ind. and Linda Kuykendall of San Antonio, Texas and Terri Main of Denver, Ind.; three grandchildren, Steven Main, Ashlyn Main and Kayla Main, all of Denver, Ind., a brother, Hulen and Mary Ann Hawthorne of Pace, Fla.; a half brother, Jerry and Kay Thompson; a sister, Betty Jean and William “Bo” Polk of Brewton and a half sister, Brenda Joyce and Coleman Wade of Jay, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 19, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Herring officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Dell Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Evon Johnson, Judson Carden Sr., Buddy Walston, Bill Haley, Raymond Jerkins and Nathaniel Moore.
