Alto plans costly growth

Members of the Atmore City Council quickly approved a request for tax abatement made by David Landa on behalf of Alto Inc. during Monday’s meeting of the group.
Landa requested the abatement to aid the company in a $3 million investment into expansions at the plant.
Atmore Mayor Howard Shell was pleased to lead the council in approving the abatement and encouraged Landa to keep up the good work at Alto.
Landa told the council the expansion will create an additional 10 jobs at the facility.
Marshall Rogers, executive director for the Escambia County Industrial Development Authority, said she is pleased with the expansion.
