The Northview Chiefs have taken a huge step early in the season as they have already matched their win total from a season ago.
This week the Chiefs (2-1, 1-1) host their district foe the Baker Gators in a rivarly contest featured during the Chiefs’ homecoming week.
Chiefs head coach Sid Wheatley said this is a huge match up for a number of reasons.
Last week, the Chiefs won their second game of the season edging out the Bozeman Bucks 22-19 in a tight offensive game.
Wheatley said the Chiefs need to take adavantage of every opportunity on offense to score points.
Facing Baker will be a tough task for the Chiefs based on the tough football they play.
Wheatley said although Baker is having a rough season they still pose a threat to the Chiefs.
With a tough-nosed team coming to Bratt, Fla. Friday, the Chiefs do not have to be told what to expect.
Wheatley said the guys know that a rival is coming and what the game entails, so they are focused on getting a win.
The Chiefs and the Gators kick off Friday at 7 p.m. at Northview High School in Bratt, Fla.
