Dust off your golf bag, driver, woods and irons and sign up for the Atmore Lions Club’s annual golf tournament held at the Atmore Country Club.
The tournament begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 and a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Atmore Lions Club member Stephen Van Pelt has headed up the effort this year, and said that sign ups have gone well for the club’s fundraiser.
The Lions Club has found more success this year in finding players and sponsors compared to last year’s event.
Van Pelt said the reason for being ahead of last year has to be attributed to club members’ efforts.
The tournament will be a two-man scramble with cash prizes awarded to the top two teams.
The cash prizes will be awarded differently this year with one prize going to the team with the best score before the handicap is included and the team with the best score after the handicap is included in the scores.
There will also be prizes awarded for the longest drive, closest to the pin and for the winner of the putting contest.
Van Pelt said the Lions Club is looking forward to having a enjoyable day of golf.
Registration for the tournament is $100 per golfer and $460 for a corporate sponsorship.
