Anyone who came through Atmore late on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 1, may have been surprised by all the activity going on. That was the afternoon when the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Showcase Downtown Art Walk-Past and Present in the heart of the downtown area.
Apparently it worked for the merchants involved in the art walk, bringing business traffic into the downtown area.
Rachel Brown, of Country Charms said she believes that it brought in some additional shoppers.
Vickery said that the response to the effort to bring attention to the downtown area was everything they hoped it would be.
The next downtown showcase is set for the first Thursday in November.
Cathy Coley, who owns Coley’s Petals and Parties, said she was very pleased with the way things turned out.
The Atmore Chamber of Commerce invites anyone who would like to participate in the upcoming downtown showcase, to give them a call at 251-368-3305.
