With the chance to force a three-way tie for the district lead on the line, the Northview Chiefs faltered last week falling 42-12 to the Freeport Bulldogs.
This week, the Chiefs (4-2, 3-2) will try to put that loss behind them as they travel to Jay, Fla. to take on the Jay Royals.
Chiefs head coach Sid Wheatley said his team came to practice on Monday enthusiastic and ready to move forward with their season.
To get ready for their game, the Chiefs worked on blocking and establishing a running game.
Wheatley said there was a lot of 1-on-1 work with both the offensive and defensive lines.
The Chiefs offense will take the fundamentals they work on and look to establish their power running game that they have had most of the season.
The Chiefs defense will need to be prepared for a strong running game.
Wheatley said stopping the option will be a key in winning the game.
The Chiefs and Royals kickoff Friday at 7 p.m. at Jay High School
