The Atmore Fire Department responded to a house fire shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday evening off Jack Springs Road.
According to rescue personnel on the scene, the fire started in the kitchen of the one-story brick home and made its way into the attic. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control quickly, but the home suffered sever smoke and water damage.
Officers with the Atmore Police Department and paramedics with Atmore Ambulance also responded to the scene.
