The Atmore City Council made quick work of business Monday afternoon during its regular meeting.
The council unanimously approved an off premises beer and wine license for The Green Apple, formerly known as the Apple Barrel, and an off premises beer license for Fast Lane No. 2, formerly Mom &Pop’s Service Station, on South Main Street.
In other business, the council:
Mayor Howard Shell informed her that he did not know how the rates are figured, but that he would find out and get back in touch with her.
Presley also expressed concerns over property eyesores near her home.
Shell explained to her the “extensive” process for condemnation and informed her that the property she is concerned with is being addressed by the city’s building inspectors.
Her final concern was regarding the boom of music from passing motorists. Public Safety Director Glenn Carlee informed her that it is a problem that is being addressed by officers writing tickets.
Carlee said the ticket costs more than $240.
