New schedule set in stone for ECHS

Escambia County’s football schedule for the 2010 season has been officially set as the Blue Devils make the trek back into Class 4A, Region 1.
With the schedule set, Blue Devils Head Coach Kyle Davis said he is happy with how the schedule was set up.
The Blue Devils are set to start their preparation for the season on Aug. 20, 2010 at Herbert Barnes Stadium with a jamboree game against the Hillcrest Jaguars.
Following the jamboree, the Blue Devils will host the T.R. Miller Tigers on Aug. 27 to kickoff their 2010 campaign.
The following week, the Blue Devils jump into region play and continue that trend for three weeks with games against at B.C. Rain, at UMS-Wright followed up with homecoming against the W.S. Neal Eagles.
Davis said it is good to have Neal back on the schedule because it adds another good rivalry.
The Blue Devils second non-region game is against a familiar opponent from their time in Class 5A, Region 1 where they will make a trip down to Mobile to take on the Faith Academy Rams.
Another road trip follows that game with a trip to Thomasville to take on another tough region opponent.
Blue Devils fans will finally get to see their team at home for consecutive weeks as the they host three straight home games against region opponents Saraland, Jackson and Monroe County.
Davis said all of the opponents in the region are tough and always willing to play hard.
The Blue Devils end their season with a game against archrival Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette.
Davis said its great being back in Class 4A because the teams the Blue Devils play always bring a large gathering.
