December is here and the holiday spirit has taken over First National Bank &Trust.
Staff at the bank donated cleaning and housing supplies to the Hospitality House as well as food to Atmore Area Christian Care Ministry Friday morning.
First National Bank &Trust tellers John Brantley and Mary Cannon worked together to coordinate the bank’s Alabama vs. Auburn Community drive.
Members of the Alabama team collected supplies to support the Hospitality House, while the Auburn supporters brought in food donations for the AACCM.
Brantley said it was a great way to give something back to residents in need.
Unlike last week’s annual Iron Bowl, the Auburn team came away with a victory by donating more items, but what showed the most was support for the community.
On hand to receive the donations for the AACCM were the Rev. Monroe Tucker and Rev. Mike McMorris along with Carolyn Morris from the Hospitality House.
The Rev. Monroe Tucker, the outgoing chairman for the AACCM, said he is proud of how the community comes together.
McMorris, the incoming chairman for the AACCM during 2010, agreed with Tucker saying that these are the times when donations really help.
