SPANISH FORT - Evelyn Herbert Davis Buford, 88, of Westminister Village, Spanish Fort died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at her residence.
She was a retired accountant, born in Repton on Nov. 30, 1921 to the late Hillary and Mary Kelly Herbert. She was a member of the Frazier Methodist Church in Montgomery. She enjoyed square dancing, was secretary and treasurer of the Dixie Square Dance Association and president of the AARP.
Her first husband, Walter Eugene Davis whom passed away in 1946 during WWII as a B-29 bomber pilot, and her second husband, Sam G. Buford Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors are one daughter, Genie Davis; one grandson, Thomas Winkler and wife, Patricia; one great granddaughter, Mia Winkler, all of Daphne; three stepsons, Mark Buford and Vic Buford of Louisiana and Mike Buford of Georgia and many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Grindle officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday, Dec. 7, 2009.
