Members of the Grand Old Dames Garden Club are all smiles after their annual Tour of Homes Sunday.
Levice Haynie, a member of the club and an organizer for the event, said the event was well received by the community.
Haynie said those who opened their homes and businesses for the tour made sure the event was a success.
The fundraising tour is one source of income for the group each year. Haynie said the money raised during this and other events stays in the community.
Haynie said club members have already begun discussions planning for the tour in 2010.
Haynie said she hopes more people will open their homes to the tour in the coming year.
Homes included in the 2009 tour were owned by Michael and Dawnetta Burns on Lamb Drive; Haskell and Faye Dunn on South Trammell Street; David and Dannie Bradley on U.S. 31; and Chad and Suzanne Helton. Businesses included in the tour were Coley’s Petals and Parties on North Main Street; Country Charms on West Ridgeley Street; Cutie Pies on North Main Street and The Beans Store on South Main Street.
Haynie said anyone interested in joining the 15-year-old tour next year can contact any member of the club or call Earline Odom at 368-4007.
