Lady Chiefs fall to Hurricanes 61-28

Northview’s Lady Chiefs made a 10-minute trip across the state line Monday night to take on the Flomaton Lady Hurricanes in Flomaton.
The Lady Chiefs put out a strong effort and played with intensity in the game but were overwhelmed and overmatched in a 61-28 loss.
Lady Chiefs guard led the way for the Chiefs as she posted 10 points in the contest.
On the other side of the court, Lady Hurricanes forward Mallet led both squads with 16 points.
The Lady Hurricanes were able to use their size and speed to their advantage from the start of the game, and by halftime things had gotten out of hand as Flomaton jumped out to a 34-19 lead.
The second half of the game was much of the same just with more defense from Flomaton as they only allowed the Lady Chiefs to score nine points, while adding 27 of their own to pick up a monster 61-28 victory.
Other Lady Chiefs involved in the scoring included Shaniqua Jones with six points; Angela Rodriguez adding four points.
Mallory Turner, Megan Ryan, Sarah Killam and Lanecia Gomez all scored two points in the loss.
Lady Hurricanes that scored included Harwell with 11 points; Gaffort with nine points; Steele, Wiggins and Brown with six points each; Chavers with three points and Neal with two points.
The Lady Chiefs next game is Friday at Escambia County. Tipoff is at 6 p.m.
