Devils fall to Bay Minette

A poor first quarter led the Escambia County Blue Devils into a 68-40 loss against the Baldwin County Tigers their second of the season.
The Blue Devils (4-4, 0-0) were outscored in every quarter, but were crushed in the first quarter being outscored 21-4 by the Class 6A powerhouse.
Blue Devils senior guard Kingston Craft led the Blue Devils with 10 points. Craft also posted four rebounds and one assist in the loss.
In the second quarter, the Blue Devils opened up their offense and were able to score 10 points, but gave up 14 to Bay Minette, which gave the Tigers a 35-14 lead at halftime.
The Tigers extended their lead in the third quarter by outscoring the Blue Devils 18-13, which put them ahead 53-27 heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth and final period, the Blue Devils managed 13 points again, but gave up 15 to let the Tigers earn a 68-40 home win.
Blue Devils Head Coach Tim Moorer said his team just could not get anything going against the Tigers.
Blue Devils Lawrence Arnold, Dalvin Craft and Cedric Pierce all scored six points in the loss.
