WALNUT HILL, Fla. - Lawrence Francis Grimes, 79, of Walnut Hill, Fla. died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 in Pensacola.
He was a retired in Maintenance with Masland, born in Walnut Hill, Fla. on June 21, 1930 to the late Bruce C. and Willie Alma Zigler Grimes.
Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Grimes of Walnut Hill, Fla.; three sons, Kenneth M. Tyson of Stockton, James R. Tyson and wife, Liciona of Woodbine, Ga. and Robert E. Tyson and wife, Delilah of Killen; two daughters, Frances Day of Sequin, Texas and Dottie Ann Davis and husband, Benjamin of Walnut Hill, Fla.; one sister, Shirley Craig of Bloomington, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Bridges officiating. Interment followed in the Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery. Family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Byron H. Vaughan, John K. Vaughan, Clinton Davis, Thomas H. Tyson, W. Travis Suits and Christopher J. Barry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walnut Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.
