William Duke Farrar II

GOODWAY - Mr. William Duke Farrar II, 65, of Goodway died Dec. 15, 2009 at his residence in Goodway.
Mr. Farrar was born in Atmore and attended Canoe Elementary, Atmore Jr. High and graduated class of 1962 from Atmore High School. He attended Pensacola Jr. College transferring to Auburn University where he graduated in 1967 with a B.S. in Agriculture. He was a crop duster until 2006. He was a farmer and a board member of the
Farmer’s Co-op. He held many offices in the Frisco City United Methodist Church which included Chairman of Board, lay leader, worship leader and a very faithful choir member. He was a member of the Crossroads Gospel Group and played key board and vocalist. He was a member of the National Agricultural Aviation Association and the Southeast Agricultural Aviation Association.
His parents, William Robert and Mary Doris Farrar, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Green Farrar of Goodway; his daughters, Dr. Elizabeth Vereen (Greg) Gravell of Meridian, Miss. and Allison (Josh) Milliron of Lake Charles, LA.; his brother, Wiley (Susan) Farrar of Canoe; his sisters, Celia (Bill) Bass of Cairo, Ga. and Betty Kemp (Tim) McQueen of Ft. Deposit and his grandchildren, Shellie Milliron and William Milliron.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Frisco City United Methodist Church in Frisco City with the Rev. Lowell Thomas and the Rev. Josh Milliron officiating. Interment followed in Sowell Old Field Cemetery in Goodway. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Frisco City United Methodist Church of Pilots for Christ.
