A new face will be pacing the dugout at Escambia Academy this spring as a new head coach has taken the reins of the team.
Josh Daugett, a former player and assistant coach for the University of West Florida Argonauts, entered the position of head coach for the Cougars in early November.
Daugett said he is excited about the opportunity to coach the Cougars.
Daugett’s experience as a coach includes serving as head coach for Central High School and two years as an assistant coach for the Argonauts program.
As a player he has experienced everything from high school and college to participating in a training camp for the New York Yankees.
Daugett said he thinks his experience will help as a head coach.
He said he hopes to help his current players find success on the field, while developing the younger players.
