Things will look a little different at the baseball and softball fields at Escambia Academy this spring when the Cougars and Lady Cougars take the field.
Lights are being installed at each field to help improve the quality of the fields as well as the scheduling.
Escambia Academy Athletic Director Heath Gibson said that the lights going in are a good improvement.
With the lights, the Academy will have a little better advantage when scheduling games and tournaments.
Gibson said the lights kind of free the school up from scheduling conflicts.
The chance for night games also helps the junior varsity.
Gibson said it will help keep the junior varsity’s games from being shortened.
