Officials with Wind Creek Casino &Hotel are putting their own spin on one of today’s top reality television shows, “American Idol.”
For the winner, it will pay big dividends, possibly changing their life forever.
According to www.windcreekcasino.com, approximately 96 contestants will advance to the semi-finals phase of the competition, which will be held at either Wind Creek Casino &Hotel in Atmore or Riverside Casino in Wetumpka throughout the month of February.
Singing hopefuls can audition today and Sunday at Wind Creek Casino from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. Auditions began last weekend at the Riverside Casino in Wetumpka and will conclude Jan. 30-31 at the Tallapoosa Casino in Montgomery.
Contestants awarded a ticket as a result of their audition will advance to a semi-final round on one of the dates and locations listed below:

The 32 contestants remaining will continue to the March 6 contest to determine the 16-talent audition finalists.
According to officials, contestants will also have a chance to advance to the Final Round in a play-based component of qualifying.
Through March 5, contestants will have a Club account specifically linked to them as an individual contestant. Friends, family and fans can sign up at the Club to earn points that get credited to the contestant of their choosing.
American Idol winners Rueben Studdard and Taylor Hicks will be on hand as celebrity judges to help in narrowing down the field for the finals on May 1 with the winner taking home $100,000 and a major recording audition in Las Vegas or Nashville.
The Top 6 finalist will win cash prizes including $100,000 to the winner, $10,000 for the runner-up, $5,000 for third place and $2,500 for each the fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers.
The finals will be held at Wind Creek Casino &Hotel and will be hosted by standup comedian and actor SINBAD.
Beginning Feb. 6, the competition will be broadcast on WKRG at 10:30 p.m. every Saturday night until the winner is presented with the cash prize on May 21.
