ATMORE - Mr. Willie James Dailey, 73, passed away at an Eight Mile Nursing Home. He was lead singer with The Swinging Swans. He worked as a Shafer, Carpenter and with Ingalls Shipyard.
His father and mother, George and Mottie Williams Dailey and three brothers, George, Johnny and Donald Dailey preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Jean Weeks of Daphne and Ashley Thomas of Miami Garden, Fla.; five sisters, Barbara Dailey and Margaret Walton of Atmore, Celestine Dailey of Philadelphia, Pa., Elizabeth Knight of Snellville, Ga. and Verna Dailey of Mobile; two brothers, Theodore Dailey of Boston, Mass. and Mack Dailey of Pascagoula, Miss.; four grandchildren, Erika Weeks, Kimberly Lymon, Larry Austin and Davonte Davis, all of Daphne and one great grandchild, DaeShaun King also of Daphne.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 23, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with Bishop Willie L. Williams officiating. Public viewing was held from 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 at Turner Funeral Chapel. His body will lie instate at the Church one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery.
Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore will be directing.
