With a new coach and a new attitude, the Escambia County Blue Devils are looking forward to the 2010 baseball season.
This season, the Blue Devils will be led by first-year coach Jason Barnett who is looking for his team to start off “fresh.”
Barnett said no player has secured a starting position on his team.
With basketball season still going, the Blue Devils have not had all their players, but there are several players taking part in practice already.
Barnett said his players have been excited at all the practices.
The outifield is piecing itself together with one position sill in question.
Barnett said he thinks he has found outfielders with the exception of a right fielder.
The infield for the Blue Devils is a little more put together with several players filling holes.
Barnett said that players are stepping up where they think they can help.
The goals for the Blue Devils are to win all of their home games as well as finish strong in their area.
Barnett said he thinks his players will be up for the challenges ahead.
The Blue Devils open the season with a home game against Flomaton at 6 p.m. on Feb. 16.
