Northview opened their season Tuesday with an 11-7 loss to the Pensacola Tigers in Pensacola.
For Chiefs Head Coach Sid Wheatley one upside is its the first game not one later in the season.
Wheatley said his team still has time to prepare for the rest of the year.
In the loss, the Chiefs had trouble getting much going on offense or rhythm on defense.
Wheatley added that his team didn’t do much of anything well in their opening game.
There was some promise late in the game with some Chiefs having some big sticks.
Wheatley said the Chiefs did have some well-hit balls in the last innings of the game.
With the Chiefs’ pitching there was some hope in the performance of two Northview pitchers.
Wheatley said Colton Sims and Heath Burkett did a solid job in late innings.
With the first game out of the way, the Chiefs are hoping for warmer weather to practice in.
Wheatley said things have been limited due to the cold weather plaguing the area.
