ATMORE - Vera Parkman Lufkin, 89, of Atmore died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at her residence.
She was born in Seale on Oct. 28, 1920 to the late Joe and Alice Cannon Parkman.
Her husband, Sewell Marriot Lufkin and a son, Joe Marriot Lufkin, preceded her in death.
Survivors are one daughter, Jean Lufkin Bowler and husband, Nicholas O. Bowler III of Birmingham; one brother, Clyde Parkman; one sister, Helen Parkman Land and one granddaughter, Alissan Lufkin Bowler.
Services will be held at noon, today, Feb. 27, 2010 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time today, Feb. 27, 2010 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness at 3803 North Fairfax Drive Suite 100 Arlington, Va. 22203.
