WARNER ROBINS, Ga.- Alvin J. James, 88, entered into eternal life on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010.
Mr. James was born on Feb. 7, 1922 in Atmore, Alabama where he grew up and graduated from high school. With pride and honor he served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and subsequently as a Civil Servant at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon and song leader. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Waddill James, parents, John Eugene James and Mattie Ellen James, four brothers and three sisters.
He will live in the hearts of his sons, Richard James (Vicki), Kathleen, and Gary James (Denise), Bonaire; daughter, Regina Marshall, Adel; grandchildren, Jason and Justin James; Nathan, Eric and Sarah James; and Jamie, Jessica and John Marshall; sisters, Alice Cochran, Atmore, Alabama and Sybil Baldwin, Riverside, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was be Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb.24, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church, elder Gary James officiating. Interment followed in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 600 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins, Ga. 31088.
