Escambia County stopped a dangerous losing streak Monday as they defeated the Flomaton Hurricanes Monday at Tom Byrne Park.
The Blue Devils (4-10, 0-0) were able to fight their way out of a dogfight to pick up their fourth win of the season.
The game was deadlocked for most of the game with both teams scoring one run in the second inning as Nick Sutton scored first for Flomaton and Cody Brown scored for the Blue Devils.
Brown went 1-for-2 in the win.
The Blue Devils were able to break the tie in the bottom of the fourth inning as Marshall Rolin reached base on a single and scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball by the catcher.
Rolin hit 2-for-3 in the game.
Blue Devils Head Coach Jason Barnett said his team played well and did what they had to do to win.
The Blue Devils next game is Friday at Spanish Fort at 5:30 p.m.
