Escambia County Middle School just finished its inaugural season of a soccer program that participated in the Baldwin County Schools league.
The Eagles, which are coached by first-year ECMS teacher Chris Wingo, finished their first season without a win, but gained a lot of knowledge about the game.
Wingo said the idea of the soccer team was something he spoke to ECMS Principal Zickeyous Byrd about when began teaching at the middle school.
With the first season behind them, the Eagles are looking forward to hitting the field next spring.
Wingo, who played soccer in high school, said he saw a lot of progress by his team during each game of the season.
