Firefighters with the Atmore Fire Department held a controlled burn on Ashley Street on March 25 as part of their monthly drill. The homeowner asked that the structure be burned to make way for another permanent residence. Chief Gerry McGhee said drills such as these aid in keeping his men trained for emergencies.
