Community members gathered at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall for common worship services as the Lenten season ended this week.
During Wednesday’s service Diane Everett, pastor at McRae Street United Methodist and Bethel United Methodist churches, offered a blessing for food provided by First Baptist Church members. Wednesday’s gathering filled the Methodist Church fellowship hall as church pastor, Jim Reece welcomed guests to the service.
The Jubilee Singers who performed their rendition of “The Old Rugged Cross” provided music.
Robinsonville Baptist Church pastor Mike McMorris presented the day’s devotional urging those present to be mindful of the holiday’s meaning.
Services held earlier in the week offered pastors of various churches an opportunity to provide devotional messages to those attending.
Monday’s devotional was presented by First Presbyterian Pastor Jim Thorpe with the Rev. Leon Stewart, providing the message for Tuesday.
First Presbyterian Church members provided Monday’s meal with Tuesday’s lunch provided by First United Methodist Church.
Reece also took Wednesday’s gathering as an opportunity to remind the community of the Sunday Sunrise Service scheduled for 6:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.
