Atmore will soon have a new business in the form of a giant Pepsi can when an automated aluminum can recycling machine is opened in the next week at the intersection of Hwy. 31 and Presley Street.
Atmore resident Berry Nall, the owner of the giant machine, has been working night and day in order to have the machine open soon.
Nall said the concept of the machine is basically the opposite of a normal drink machine.
The idea of a recycled can machine is not new, according to Nall, who said that there have been similar machines in northern states for several years.
Nall said the idea is for a person to bring the cans to the machine and receive cash. He added that there is another special thing about the machine’s payout.
Nall said that he hopes to have the machine operational soon, and hopes the ideas and accessibility will help.
