The Atmore Area YMCA inspired families to come out and put some “play in their day” as it hosted its annual Healthy Kids Day last Saturday.
At the event, children were able to take part in activities such as face painting, a fitness course, tug-of-war and other events.
At least 100 children and their families attended the event and played games all day long.
Atmore Area YMCA Executive Director Tammy Graham said that the amount of participants was more than she has ever seen.
Lance Blackburn, YMCA board member, directed the obstacle course where children and their parents hopped and jumped with Lance Blackburn through the tubes, tunnels and cones.
Two bounce houses were a big hit with the younger crowd. Sharon Smith, YMCA board member, painted faces non-stop throughout the whole day.
Loretta Berry, child care director and event coordinator said everything was well planned for the event.
