Weather forces Relay relocation to YMCA

Organizers with today’s Relay for Life in Atmore have made some changes due to the threat of inclement weather this weekend.
According to activities chairperson Deborah Camp, the location for Relay has changed from Tom Byrne Park to the Atmore Area YMCA building located on Pensacola Avenue.
In addition, the parade tied to this year’s Relay theme, “Cancer is no Parade,” has been cancelled.
The survivor’s brunch is still scheduled for 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Relay opening ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m. at the Y.
The entertainment schedule, listed below, remains the same:
1 p.m. – CELEBRATE – Honorary Chair – Judy Branum, National Anthem – Haley Murph
12:30 p.m. – Survivor Lap followed by Caregiver and Team laps
2 p.m. – On stage – Voices of Anointing
2:30 p.m. – On stage – Haley Murph
3 p.m. – Cake Judging – Birthday celebration following judging
3 p.m. – On stage – Ryan Carter
4 p.m. – On stage – Sweet Lovin’ Daddy
4:30 p.m. – Team activities
5 p.m. – Team songs on main stage
5:30 p.m. – On stage – TBA
6 p.m. – On stage – Barbershop Quartet
7 p.m. – Team activities – So you think you can dance?
7:30 p.m. – Team activities
8 p.m. – On stage – TBA
9 p.m. – REMEMBER
10 p.m. – Womanless Beauty Pageant
10:45 p.m. – Team activities
11 p.m. – FIGHT BACK!! AWARDS/CLOSING
