Atmore VFW Rangers push past State Farm White Sox

A sixth inning push with six runs was enough to help the Atmore VFW Rangers pick up a 11-7 victory over the State Farm White Sox Monday in Cal Ripken Minor League action at Tom Byrne Park.

The Rangers opened up the game with four runs as Sam Smith, Joshua Hadley, Austin Walker and Bryant Quimby scored runs.

The White Sox bounced back in the bottom of the inning with Chase Bell, Jackson Bonner, Brandon Gulsby and Kameron Bowen scoring runs to tie the game at four.

The Rangers took the lead again in the top of second with Tristan Kilpatrick ripping a homerun to give his team a 5-4 lead.

The teams then held each other scoreless in their next at-bats before the White Sox tied the game at five with Gulsby scoring his second run of the game.

The Rangers broke the tie in the top of the sixth as they picked up hit after hit with six runs scoring as Dejion Crenshaw, Sam Smith, Joshua Hadley, Jave Dawe, Paxton Hobbs and Saviour Kilpatrick made it around the basepath.

The White Sox were unable to make good on their comeback attempt only scoring two runs as Bonner and Bowen scored one Bowen’s homerun to put the score at 11-7.

Chiefs 9

Cardinals 5

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians Chiefs were able to earn a 9-5 victory over the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals Monday in Cal Ripken Minor League action.

The Chiefs led for the majority of the game as they scored four runs in the first inning, three in the third inning and two in the fourth inning, while the Cardinals scored four of their five runs in the second inning and their fifth run in the top of the fourth.

Tucker Spence led the Chiefs with two runs and Jalen Martin led the Cardinals with two runs.
