UB Warriors pound PCI Braves 9-4

The United Bank Warriors put on an offensive show Thursday night as they pounded the Poarch Creek Indians Braves 9-4 in Cal Ripken Major League action at Tom Byrne Park.

The Braves opened the game with two runs as Tyler Williams and Hunter Nobles crossed the plate.

In the bottom of the first, the Warriors cut the Braves’ lead to one with Billy Powell scoring.

The Braves extended their lead by three runs in the top of the second as Trent Dacus and Ty Riley made their way around the basepath.

The Warriors took control of the game in the bottom of the second adding six runs to take the lead 7-4 with Powell, Justin Johnson, Levi Solomon, Adam Smith, Brad Quimby and Jackson Breckenridge all scoring runs.

The Warriors put the finishing touches on their win in the bottom of the third as they scored two more runs with Adam Smith and Steven Wilson scoring to put the final at 9-4.

The Poarch Creek Indians Arrows picked up a monster win Thursday night as they crushed the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers 12-4 in a battle of Cal Ripken Major League foes.

The Tigers picked up two quick runs in the top of the first with Maleek Salter and Justin Walden crossing the plate.

The lead would be shortlived though as the Arrows scored five runs with Corey Bailey, Tyler Sells, Dakota O’Barr, Tanner Guilby and Xan McGhee all scoring.

The Arrows extended their lead in the second inning scoring three more runs with O’Barr, Guilby and McGhee all scoring their second runs of the game.

The Tigers finally got on the scoreboard again in the top of the third as Jimmy Overstreet and Christian Thorpe both crossed the plate.

The Arrows put the game away in the bottom of the third as Trennon Hamilton, Bailey, O’Barr and McGhee made their way around the basepath to end the game 12-4.
