Atmore Flames crush SAV Sluggers 22-6

The Atmore Babe Ruth Softball League opened its season on Saturday at Tom Byrne Park with ages six to 16 taking the field in three different age groups fielding six teams.

In the 13-16 age group, the Atmore Babe Ruth Strikers defeated the Flomaton Canes 5-3, while the First National Bank & Trust Magnolias fell to the Poarch Shakers 16-2.

In the 10-12-year-old group, the Atmore Utilities Board Flames crushed the South Alabama Vending Sluggers 22-6 and the United Bank Silver Eagles defeated the South Alabama Vending Sluggers 10-7.

With the six to nine age group, the Poarch Lady Chiefs routed the David’s Catfish House Marlins 11-3, while the Poarch LA Girls also beat the Atmore Rotary Club Lions 11-3.
