Devils take part in All-Star game

Escambia County High School was represented on Thursday night at the North-South All-Star game in Montgomery at the Cramton Bowl as a part of the 2011 All-Star Sports Week held by the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

Blue Devils head coach Mark Heaton, who was chosen along with recently graduated Blue Devil defensive backs Tocorian Brown and Marshall Rolin represented the school on the South squad.

Heaton who was chosen as an assistant coach by Maplesville and South head coach Brent Hubbert and Brown and Rolin helped lead the South team to a come from behind victory over the North.

The South earned the win on a late rally with MVP Kyle Caldwell leading a nine-play 71-yard scoring drive to pull the South within three points of the North who led 33-30.

Following an onside kick recovery, Caldwell found one more touchdown pass hitting Ardarius Dawsey for a 40-yard touchdown to help seal the win 37-33 after the extra point.
