Spring is still a month away, but with the change of seasons approaching, the national pastime will return to Atmore as sign ups for Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball will begin next weekend.

Registration for Cal Ripken Baseball  and Cal Ripken T-Ball will begin Saturday, Feb. 18 & 25 at City Hall auditorium from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Parents may also sign their children up during the week at Murray Johnson’s insurance office from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The office is located at 105 E. Louisville Avenue.

T – Ball is for children ages four thru six and the registration fee is $40.

Atmore Cal Ripken Baseball features minor and major league age grups.

The rookie league is for ages seven to eight; the minor league is for age nine and 10 and the major league is for ages 11 to 12. Registration fee for both leagues is $50.

First time players need to bring proof of age . May 1 is the cutoff for birthdate of a player.
