The 11-year-old Cal Ripken State Tournament starts today at 10 a.m. in Semmes.

Atmore will be one of seven teams in the tournament. Other teams are: Alexander City, Westside, Semmes, Monrovia, Mims and Sylacauga.

Atmore plays its first game at 11:45 a.m. against Mims. Their second game Saturday is against Westside at 3:15 p.m. Both of those first two games are on field A at the Semmes ballpark.

Also on Saturday, Alexander City takes on Sylacauga and Semmes takes on Monrovia at 10 a.m. Sylacauga then switches to field B to take on Westside at 11:45, before Alexander City plays Semmes at 1:30 on field A. At 1:30 on field B, Monrovia takes on Mims.

Atmore will play back-to-back games Sunday starting at 11:45 a.m. against Monrovia. Atmore then takes on Semmes at 1:45 p.m. Those games will be on field A.

Also on Sunday, Alexander City takes on Westside at 10 a.m. on field B, while at the same time on field A Semmes faces off against Sylacauga. Mims takes on Sylacauga at 11:45 after a field switch. At 1:30 p.m. on field B Alexander City takes on Mims and at 3:15 on field A Westside takes on Monrovia to close out pool play.

The top four seeds after the weekend pool play will meet in the elimination round on Monday, starting at 10 a.m.

The winners of those games play in the championship at 1:30 p.m.
