The Alabama State Troopers have identified the victim killed in a nine-vehicle crash Thursday on Interstate 65 North near Flomaton.
Trooper Jamie Maloy said Tuesday afternoon that Mary Daphine Bridges, 51, of Spanish Fort, was killed in the crash, which took place at 5:17 p.m. Thursday at the 68.8-mile marker, near the Flomaton/Wallace exit.
Bridges’ identity was not released until Tuesday, because the Alabama State Troopers were still waiting for positive identification from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
The collision involved three tractor-trailers and six passenger cars, Maloy said. Five more people were injured in the crash, and they were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
