The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce’s nominating committee recently announced its nominees for the Chamber Board of Directors.
The nominees elected will serve as directors of the chamber for a three-year term, beginning on Jan. 1, 2016.
The nominees are Doug Smith of Central Farm Supply; Donna Gilman of United Bank; Michelle Smith of The Atmore Advance; and Myrna Monroe of The Atmore News.
Additionally, two directors at large were nominated for one-year appointments. The directors at large nominees include Terry Kelly (Merchant Advisory Position) and Edie Jackson (Poarch Band of Creek Indians).
Section 2, Article 5 of the chamber of commerce’s constitution requires that the executive director inform within five days the members of the chamber of commerce of the names of candidates selected by the nominating committee and their right to petition additional candidates. If no petition is given, then the nominated candidates will become the new directors of the chamber. If there is a petition, the members will vote and the candidates receiving the most number of votes will be the new directors.
