Atmore’s Cal Ripken 10U All-Stars beat Jay, Fla. 15-1 in the loser’s bracket to stay alive in the District 7 tournament at Tom Byrne Park today.
Atmore lead 2-0 early in the game, and quickly built its lead to 5-0.
The local All-Stars play Flomaton tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in the loser’s bracket championship game. Atmore will need to win against Flomaton to earn a berth to the state tournament at Matthews Park.
In 8U action, Flomaton fought its way through the loser’s bracket, defeating Monroe 14-6, and topping Jay 21-11 and 16-8 in the championship to win the district title.
