Atmore’s 10U Cal Ripken All-Stars fell 15-9 to Flomaton in the loser’s bracket championship on Sunday at Tom Byrne Park.

The local team put up a good fight after falling behind 9-0 in the first inning, but couldn’t plate enough runs to pull out the needed win.

Monroe beat Flomaton 15-6 in the championship game to win the district title. Monroe and Flomaton advance to the state tournament at Matthews Park in Mobile.

In 8U action, Atmore lost 16-2 to Monroe on Friday, and 19-18 the day before.

Flomaton battled through the loser’s bracket to win the 8U district championship. Jay, Fla. and Flomaton will advance to the state tournament in Opp starting June 29.

Atmore’s Jamarrion Hooks went 4-for-4 with two runs; Brodie Phillips went 3-for-4 with two runs; Harper Harrison went 2-for-4; Carson Wilson went 2-for-4; and Crimson Cook went 2-for-4.

Flomaton strung together some hits and took advantage of some good base-running in the first inning.

Atmore answered with five runs, but trailed 12-5 after the second inning.

Flomaton added three runs in the top of the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Atmore plated two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings.

Flomaton’s Cyrus Brown went 5-for-5; Keaton Payne and Colton Rollin went 4-for-5 each; and Miles Hogan went 3-for-5.
Atmore 15, Jay 1

It was a 2-0 ball game until the third inning when Atmore scored eight runs to go ahead 10-0.

Jay scored one run in the fourth, and Atmore tacked on five additional runs in the fourth during the game on Saturday.

Phillips went 2-for-3 with two runs; Wilson went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs; Hooks went 2-for-2 with three runs; and Riley Harrison went 1-for-2 with three runs.
Atmore opened the tournament on June 8 with a 8-7 victory over Century, Fla.

Cook went 2-for-3 with one run; Phillips scored two runs; and Riley Harrison went 1-for-3 with three runs.

Atmore scored seven runs to open the game hot on June 8, but Flomaton managed to add runs later on in the game in the win.

Atmore scored one run in the second, five runs in the third, two runs in the fourth, one run in the fifth and two runs in the sixth.

Flomaton scored one run in the first, three runs in the second, two runs in the third, seven runs in the fourth and three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings.

Atmore’s Grant Sasser went 2-for-3 with three runs; Samuel Daughtry went 3-for-3 with two runs; Kamden Martin went 4-for-4 with a run; Will Strawbridge went 3-for-4 with four runs; Logan Rolin went 3-for-3 with two runs; Sema’J Lett went 4-for-4 with a run; Braiden Walker, Kaden Boyington and Cash Griffey had one hit each; and Tyshawn Johnson had two hits.

Flomaton’s Braden Wall and Luke Fore had four hits each.
